Self published, 1981. Staplebound zine on A5 size paper. Stapled along top edge creating a "notepad" style binding. 18 pages. Small stain to the cover and age appropriate yellowing and light wear throughout. A very good copy of this exceedingly scarce work.

Richard Kern was a luminary of the NYC no-wave scene. First came "The Heroin Addict" from 1978-1981, then "The Valium Addict" from 1981-1983", which became "Dumb Fucker" by issues 5 and 6. Alarum is exceedingly proud to offer a rare second issue of the Valium Addict.

This second issue of The Valium Addict includes contributions by Stewart Wilson, Montanna Houston, Patrich Mack, Bunny Ryals, Ronnie Burn, Steve Neuman, Mary Otto, Rene Dickens, Holly George, and John McCormac. Masterfully laid out, well written, this issue provides ample evidence of what would come in Kern's career. Scarce and important.
