As described, a slightly less acerbic tone dominates here, though don't get me wrong, works like "I Don't Need a Bedsheet with Slits for Eyes to Kill You In" is up there with his greatest pieces. Still Bukowski, still essential, and a great overview of an often passed over portion of his career.
