Peter O’Leary is my favorite modern poet. This book calls to mind the most sublime expressions of artists like Robert Duncan and Ronald Johnson; lush, incantatory verses laden with astrological meaning. O’Leary’s voice is one of pure, luminous myth – he deftly switches from scientific language to the occult, from the visible universe to the unknown. I recommend each of his works equally, but found The Hidden Eye of Things a magnificent distillation of his gnostic worldview. Highest recommendation.
