The Death Ship
B. Traven
Lawrence Hill Books, Brooklyn, 1991. Second Lawrence Hill Books Edition.
Slight delamination on the cover; and light soiling to the text block. Very good.
From the publisher: “The Death Ship tells the story of an American sailor, stateless and penniless because he has lost his passport, who is harassed by police and hounded across Europe until he finds an 'illegal' job shoveling coal in the hold of a steamer bound for destruction.”
B. Traven’s tales of the downtrodden are a thing of legend, not only because of the mystery surrounding his identity. Second only to The Treasure of the Sierra Madre, The Death Ship is one of the finest examples of early Anarchist thought in the novel.
