A rather fascinating artifact of the early 90s, this book collects Dr. Charles Caulfield’s “HIV News” column from the San Francisco Sentinel, with some additional context, information, and guides on what amount to DIY therapies for AIDS. Dr. Caulfield, himself diagnosed with AIDS ten years prior to the publication of this work, contended that survival was within reach without shockingly expensive therapeutics. Written from the perspective an expert deeply vested in the subject matter, this is an erudite, countercultural artifact of one of the darkest moments in American history. An uncommonly clean copy.
