Proudly presented here are all four books of John Crowley's "Aegypt Cycle" tetralogy. A masterpiece in an oeuvre full of masterworks, I cannot recommend the Aegypt Cycle enough. These are lovely, warm novels, full of intellectual curiosity and a certain kind of ignorant freedom ciphered through our protagonist Pierce Moffett as he navigates academia, love, life, and the world of the subconscious.

Hermetic meta-narratives emerge while scholarly explorations into the life and works of John Dee and Giordano Bruno effortlessly melt into summer-warm drama in the pastoral paradise of Faraway Hills New York. There's a life in here that all seekers after truth want to live, one of later life reinvention and the reenchantment of the world. Deeply moving stuff within. Highest recommendation.
