Soldier of Fortune
March 1994
Soldier of Fortune, CO. 1994. Like new.
A great issue that begs the question why SoF didn't run with the American Flag logo more. Also, I had no idea Tucker Carlson wrote for them, but the back page piece has one of the greatest pull quotes in these things. A good issue, other pieces include:
"Pogue Warrior" (A funny takedown of one of the earliest spec ops grifters, Richard Marcinko.)
"One Flew Through the Cuckoo's Net" (Scathing attack on the ATFs ineptitude with regards to the insane story of Mir Aimal Kansi.)
"Executions or Mercy Killings?" (More Waco reporting, bummer stuff.)
"Liberty of the Breathing Dead" (A fun piece on Gerry Spence, Randy Weaver's attorney.)
This one has some great "personal interest" stories related to real characters from the 90s, now long faded from the public memory.
