It’s very likely that Alarum Books would not have existed if it weren’t for the writing of Sami Reiss.  Ever since I received an ad for the mysterious Snake America on a Nuclear War Now! Postcard mailer, I have found immense inspiration in his plainspoken approach to the deepest corners of vintage. This book is digital archaeology, it’s a masterwork of utilitarian design (tremendous work by Nathaniel Matthews of the enigmatic R.M. Corp.), it’s a style guide for writing about items both sublime and banal, it’s a devotional text. Weird Levi’s, Champion hoodies, esoteric winter gear…it’s all here folks. If you’re obsessive over these kinds of things, as I am, I can only offer the highest possible recommendation.
