This is the kind of weird book I love to put in front of folks. Here we follow the journey of a teenage girl into the pits of drug and alcohol addiction, and her recovery after bottoming out. What really makes this one special are the illustrations; intense, bizarre, and oppressive imagery reigns as she begins to lose control of her life. For fans of “transgressive lit” I highly recommend going to the source occasionally. Eerie, sad, with an ultimately uplifting message, there is a deep well of inspiration to draw from here.
