In quite fine condition, a former student’s copy with some highlighting and mark up. Very good.
This is a unique anthology of essays focusing on the concept of “state terror”, taking us around the world, specifically looking at Spain, India, Argentina, Guatemala, Northern Ireland, Indonesia and the Philippines as case studies. Harrowing and thought provoking as the best conflict anthropology often is, this book is as its strongest when it is coldly analyzing the actors of state terror; my recommendation – skip the intro and head straight into the cold dark heart of this book.
