Arc d'X
Steve Erickson
Poseidon Press, NY, 1993. First Edition. A dab of sticke residue on the rear of dust jacket, pristine otherwise.
From the Publisher
"Thomas' love for his fourteen-year-old slave, Sally, and in her irrevocable choice to forfeit freedom for that love, lies the emblematic dilemma that has forged our nation's destiny - the tension between history's denial of the dictates of the human heart and our secret pursuit of the heart's expression."
This book has a blurb from Thomas Pynchon and William Gibson. Chew on that. Erickson is a GOAT of American experimental literature, and this book is no exception, though often ignored for reasons beyond me. A beautiful first edition of this fascinating, cross-temporal psycho-romp through the deep American psyche.
Highly recommended.
