Personnel Press have done venerable work here supporting the brilliant Adam Cantwell with a perfectly packaged collection of Ligotti-esque horror of the highest caliber. Worth it alone for the novella length psychogeographic drama of “Orphans on Granite Tides” (itself garnering rather psychotic prices), the rest of the pieces here invoke a curious atmosphere of delocated and terrible surrealism. Unnerving, the kind of writing that you’ll remember as you descend a rickety staircase into the bare-bulb flickering light of a damp unfinished basement.
