A City at the End of the World
V.B. Price
University of New Mexico Press, Albuquerque. 1992. First edition, hardcover. Some slight edgewear to the dust jacket. Interior tight and pristine, unmarked. An excellent copy.
From the publisher:
"This impassioned book, both a loving description and a critique, defines urban values in a milieu that is rarely recognized as a city. Updated more than ten years after its initial publication, it is more relevant than ever to Albuquerque's future. A new chapter describes Albuquerque's recent development, placing it in the context of urban growth in the West."
A lovely, forward facing ode to our weird-ass city, penned by the son of Vincent Price (!), who also fell in love with the depraved austerity of this testament to humanity's desire to live between a river and some mountains. Essentially the "City of Quartz" of Albuquerque - highly recommended.
